Barrell Sculpture on tour – the Landscape Show
We’re really lucky to work in Cornwall in our studios looking out over the trees and down to the sea, but it’s exciting to go upcountry and meet the people who support us by specifying Ben’s work.
A couple of weeks ago we headed up to London for the Landscape Show at Battersea park. Between us we attended some seminars, met some new people, visited old contacts, and watched the highly entertaining Pecha Kucha.
The stand out session featured our friend Matt Keightley on the platform with Sue Biggs of the RHS. They were talking about how to successfully pitch, and then deliver a Chelsea Show Garden. Matt is a great person to work with, and Ben had lent him some Pebble Seats for his Artisan Garden in 2017, but they hadn’t actually met face to face. Matt’s Feel Good Garden was one of the highlights of RHS Chelsea 2018 and we can’t wait to see its permanent version at RHS Wisley. Here’s a few tips from Matt about putting together your own Feelgood Garden
It was great too to meet John McCrae from External Works. We’re on the ESI website and in the print directory for the first time for a long time this year, and John has been incredibly helpful as we put together our entries.
And of course, it’s always a pleasure to see Robert Myers who provided the initial inspiration for the original sculptural Pebble Seats that Ben made for his award-winning Chelsea Show garden in 2009. Robert was one of the presenters of the Pecha kucha, It’s a great format for a presentation – lots of pictures and only a few words.
