Orca

‘As a young artist, I taught sailing to pay my bills, and to allow me to buy materials. I often encountered dolphins, porpoises and seals but I have never had the privilege of seeing a Killer whale out there on the ocean. In creating Orca, I’ve tried to fill that gap. My Orca is a seat, with the seat-back the graceful fin of the whale spied cutting through the water. I still hope to encounter a real one and although only a weekend sailor now, perhaps some day I will.’ Ben Barrell
