Exeter Mother & Baby Unit

The Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital opens a new 8-bed Mother and Baby Unit in 2019 (MBU). Barrell Sculpture were contacted in November 2018 to see if we could help with some beautiful sculptural seating to sit outside the unit. The original plans had involved beautiful but very expensive seating. The landscape contractors wanted to offer an equally beautiful but less expensive alternative.

Matt textured Pebble Seats

Barrell Sculpture were delighted to propose three Pebble Seats, a round Pendeen in soft white, an oval Pendeen in mid-grey, and a large Pico in soft white. They were looking for as cost-effective a solution as possible without losing quality or the integrity of the landscape design.  We proposed the new matt textured finish Pebble Seat as opposed to the highly polished option. This option is a little bit more budget friendly. And we’re always pleased to assist the NHS, (or charities,) so we gave them a good price and waived the usual delivery charges.
